Description
Celebrate Day of the Dead at Mexico City's Jamaica Market!
If you're in Mexico City for Day of the Dead, you absolutely have to experience the Jamaica Market. As the city's only 24-hour flower market, its aisles in late October burst with vibrant orange marigolds and rich red terciopelos, all on their way to altars across the city.
We'll kick off our tour by meeting at the metro stop in Condesa before heading to the market on the subway. Once there, we'll wander through the bustling aisles overflowing with food, flowers, and folk art. Imagine colorful sugar skulls, intricate papel picado, and charming tiny skeleton figurines—all specially crafted for Day of the Dead. We'll dive into the meaning behind Day of the Dead altars, and you'll find everything you need to create your own if you're inspired! Of course, we’ll eat too: tacos, tlacoyos, tamales, and atole, to name a few, plus Jamaica’s famous huaraches that were invented nearby.
